STARRING: Vin Diesel, Paul Walker, Dwayne Johnson, Michelle Rodriguez
Block head: from left, Diesel and Johnson
There are two grunty reasons to cheer the F&F series on, even with a big, fat 6 attached to it. The first is the ferocious creations that are the cars. The second, as if you didn’t know, is its premium Diesel fuel. With Justin Lin back at the helm, the platinum-polished F&F 6 sees Dominic “Dom” Toretto (Diesel), his ex-lawman buddy Brian O’Conner (Walker) and their “family” of fellow hard cases hot on the tail lights of global menace Shaw (Luke Evans) and his stop-at-nothing drivers.
Hell-bent Agent Hobbs (Johnson) is so desperate to nail Shaw’s sociopathic hide that he guarantees all-round pardons if Dom and his team can reel him in. (If? Puh-leeze!) Dom’s personal deal clincher? His dearly departed Letty (Rodriguez) is miraculously very much alive — and running with the baddies.
And they’re racing! Yet again! At full throttle with guns a-blazing, fists a-flying and superhuman, on-the-fly stunts that would knock the stuffing out of lesser men. And women. Which these hot operators are not and never will be. After all, life in perpetual overdrive takes a prodigious amount of juice.
